Siren 3 device provides connectivity for medium-sized boats with mechanical outboards
Siren Marine has added Siren 3 to its range of connected boat devices, designed to complement small to mid-sized outboard powered boats, pontoons, deck boats and bass boats.
“The original Siren set a benchmark for marine Internet of Things (IoT) devices and now we’re expanding the connected boat experience to a high-volume segment of the market. Boaters who prefer mid-sized craft now have access to a robust system designed specifically for their needs,” said Andrew Cullen, Director, Marine Connectivity at Yamaha’s Marine Business Unit.
“With Siren 3, customers can monitor, track, control and maintain their boats through the Siren Connected Boat app – from anywhere and at anytime. This is the most comprehensive IoT system available at this price in the marine industry,” he claims.
Siren 3 supports up to six Siren wireless sensors through SirenWAVE, a proprietary communication protocol that brings a fast, reliable and secure connection between the device itself and the sensors. It also features a new internal antenna design which reduces the amount of space needed for installation on smaller boats.
Siren 3 can monitor one hard-wired battery and works with most vessel and power types. Siren 3 can connect to the NMEA 2000 network and the Yamaha CommandLink network through mechanical engines of up to 300 horsepower.
Customers can access information about their installed Siren 3 device through the Siren Connected Boat mobile app, which combines real-time vessel security as well as multiple and flexible boat monitoring and tracking functions, giving them the ability to control their boats from their phones or smart watches.
