Growth in the North and Midlands prompts expansion of CET into these territories to support test and investigation services for rail, construction and utilities.
Thanks to further growth and new contract wins, CET has opened a new operation dedicated to providing customers in the Midlands and North with a host of specialist geotechnical and environmental investigation services.
Led by new hire Russell Thompson, a skilled Principal Engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in geoenvironmental investigation and consultancy, the new operation builds on the success of CET’s existing national service managed from the south. It will provide customers with local access to the services for which CET is known – including contaminated land surveys, waste soil classification, site investigation and specialist services for the rail sector.
CET’s expansion into the Midlands and North comes as a result of several major project wins in the region, including investigations and infrastructure development in the utilities sector and several highways and commercial developments. Continued growth is expected, with CET aiming to grow its team in the area over the coming months.
Bob Blunden, CEO of CET, commented: “While our Kent based team has long supported customers nationwide, having a permanent base in a central location allows us to increase efficiency and provide local expertise for the many exciting developments planned for the Midlands and North of England.
“In addition to new client acquisition, the consultancy will support clients from our material testing laboratory at Wolvey, Leicestershire and also the recently acquired CTS operation in Doncaster. We will also combine this physical presence with the latest technology to further improve our service to customers through the use of CETi, our powerful analytics and testing database. The technology provides same-day test results, allowing projects to continue unhindered by long waits for results which keeps developments on schedule and on budget.”
CET provides a complete ground risk management service, throughout the construction life-cycle, and have particular expertise in the infrastructure and property markets including: rail, road, harbour, utilities, commercial and residential.
