The latest Mini, the “Aceman” crossover has a fully electric drivetrain and will soon be offered as part of the existing Mini range.
On its way to series production, the new model has undergone testing in extremely high temperatures on sandy desert roads.
The car has already completed successful environmental tests in laboratories and test facilities as well as in the Arctic Circle before completing final testing in the desert in strong sunlight and heat. In addition to driving dynamics and comfort, the test team also focused on the demanding aspects of an electric vehicle. For this purpose, the air conditioning, charging and cooling of the battery, drive and control devices were intensively tested at temperatures of up to 50° Celsius in dusty desert sand.
The Aceman will be offered solely with a fully electric powertrain and a battery size of 54.2 kWh. According to Mini, thanks to the purely electric drive concept, the car takes up little space on the road and offers a high level of comfort and versatility.
