Omega Calibration has gained accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for its approach to workplace health and safety.
Excellent levels of health & safety in the workplace have been guaranteed for Omega Calibration, a specialist independent calibration laboratory, thanks to accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor.
Chesterfield-based Omega Calibration provides a series of calibration services including electrical, dimensional, temperature, pressure, testing and repairs. It is part of CET, a supplier of outsourced services to a wide range of industry sectors.
Omega’s application for SafeContractor status was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business which builds on its own commitment to health & safety for its employees, visitors and contractors. Alcumus SafeContractor is a third party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health & safety management, and is used by thousands of organisations in the UK from SMEs to FTSE 100 companies.
Bob Blunden, CEO of CET, commented: “The team at Omega are making rapid strides in their field, and key to this is achieving independent verification of excellence in a number of areas. This new accreditation backs up Omega’s robust health & safety policy and training, demonstrating commitment to safe working which provides peace of mind to customers.”
Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said: “Major organisation simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health & safety policies in place. Omega’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”
